Nowhere but Up
The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom
Revell/Lion Hudson, 2012 (288pp)
TODAY sees the official release of Nowhere but Up, the autobiography of Pattie Mallette, Justin Bieber’s Mum (or Mom, depending which side of the pond you’re on). Described by the publishers as “much more than a ‘celebrity parent’ book”, I’m told that this “is a title which really has something to say about finding and hanging onto faith.”
To quote Pattie herself:
It doesn’t matter where you find yourself today – how broken, hurting, wounded, or ashamed you are. If God can help me find my way up, I promise, He can do the same for you.
From the Press Release:
In Nowhere but Up, written in collaboration with A. J. Gregory, Mallette shares heartbreaking details about the trauma, abuse, and addiction that marked her early childhood and young adult years. She reflects on a desperate search for love and acceptance that led to teenage rebellion and a suicide attempt at seventeen. And she recounts the remarkable way her life finally turned around when she found herself pregnant and facing an uncertain future as a single mum.
