Inspire Magazine: Tributes paid to former director of African Enterprise ‘Queen Jean’

JEAN WILSON, a former organiser of CBC (Christian Booksellers Convention, the forerunner to today’s Christian Resources Together), has died, aged 79. Amongst her many other achievements, Jean was responsible for Billy Graham’s visit to Blackpool in 1980, when he attended CBC as the Booksellers’ Banquet guest speaker at Jean’s invitation and subsequently stopped over for a one-night mission (Maurice Rowlandson, 50 Years in Christian Work, 21/8/2004).

More information about Jean’s life and work may be found in Inspire Magazine, Tributes paid to former director of African Enterprise ‘Queen Jean’

  1. Jean Wilson’s funeral took place in Blackpool this week. However, a memorial service for Jean’s life and service will be held in London at All Soul’s Church, Langham Place on Friday April 12th at 2pm. My thanks to Roger Page of CLC for this information.
