IN A PRESS RELEASE ISSUED TODAY, CLC UK have announced a number of operational and personnel changes as they face the possibility of a compulsory purchase order on their wholesale warehouse in Alresford, Hampshire.
The changes consist of:
- A one-year ecommerce fulfilment agreement with eden.co.uk (Eden Ecommerce Ltd) commencing 1st October 2014.
- An in-principle decision to relocate CLC Wholesale to either the Midlands or further north by the end of 2015.
- Phil Burnham moving on from his role as National Director to other responsibilities at the end of October 2014 and the corresponding appointment of Eddie Olliffe as General Manager on a one‐year fixed-term contract commencing 1st November 2014, Eddie’s role to include overseeing the recruitment of a new National Director.
The organisation remains firmly committed to its high street presence and mission via its chain of physical bookstores.
Phil Burnham will clearly be a hard act to follow and in tribute to him, CLC’s Trustees write:
The Trustees are very grateful for the unflagging commitment of Phil Burnham during a time of great change, both within CLC and the wider Christian trade. In the six years since his appointment in 2008, CLC UK has grown and become more financially stable, enabling the ministry to more effectively fulfil its mission.
Let’s keep Eddie, Phil, the teams at CLC Wholesale and Eden — and all others involved in these changes — in our prayers: may each of them find the wisdom, grace and stamina needed, and may the right person soon be found to step into the National Director’s role.
