AUTUMN LEAVES? Yes indeed: no matter how many you sweep up, there are always some that get away; and in this news roundup I present some of the stories — all good news, I’m delighted to say — that managed to get away from me over the last couple of months, including the launch of CLC Wholesale’s trade website and Eden’s commitment to the Living Wage. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the UKCBD facebook page for occasional news snippets in between blog posts too!
- CLC Wholesale trade website now live
- CRT2015 Award Winners
- Eden commit to the Living Wage
- Kuperard increase their Christian fiction range
- 10ofThose prepare to party — and you’re invited!
- Wildcard: First British Barber gains 3 Trade Test Standard Certificates
CONGRATULATIONS to CLC Wholesale on the launch of their eagerly awaited trade website at clcwholesale.com, announced 16 September 2015. It’s a service that should prove invaluable in the run up to Christmas, offering retailers access to live stock levels in the warehouse — including, crucially, non-book product (gifts, CDs, DVDs etc) which isn’t available via pubeasy.com — which should not only make ordering easier but also lead in turn to more accurate order fulfillment. The order deadline is 2pm for same day dispatch and there’s a friendly customer service team ready to respond to any enquiries if you run into difficulties.
If you’re a Christian retailer who isn’t using the service, you’re missing out: register or login here; or if you’re looking for the blog, go to blog.clcwholesale.com, where you’ll find the latest news, reviews, new title updates and Take Note info along with all the archived posts.
Unfortunately, however, this does mean the end of CLC Wholesale on pubeasy.com as they focus on developing their in-house service.

HERE, courtesy of the Together Magazine twitter feed, are the CRT2015 book and music award winners: congratulations one and all to the publishers and authors concerned!
Look out for a full report in the next issue of Together — and if you’re eager to get ahead, bookings are already open for next year: the retreat returns to the Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Thurs Sept 15th – Friday Sept 16th 2016: details here.
EXCELLENT NEWS emerged last month for eden.co.uk’s workforce: the company has joined the ranks of accredited Living Wage employers — and we’re not talking the government’s so-called “National Living Wage” that kicks in below par next year, this is the real Living Wage as set by the Living Wage Foundation.
Our customers and management team live by a set of values including justice and fairness, so rewarding our front-line teams for their dedication and hard work is the right thing to do. Our Living Wage Accreditation differentiates us from all other online booksellers and is a step on track towards becoming an employer of choice in the City of Chester.

Kuperard increase their Christian fiction range
GOOD NEWS for Karen Kingsbury fans courtesy of Kuperard’s Mark Clifford, who informs me that the company has expanded their Christian fiction list to include a wider range of her titles under an exclusive UK and Ireland distribution arrangement with Simon & Schuster.
Retailers requiring further information or wishing to stock up should contact Mark direct or download a trade order form (pictured opposite; pdf, 2MB).

The new premises includes a shop and meeting facilities for church groups.
