Closure of Carlisle Christian bookshop a sad day
It is sad that on Saturday the last Christian bookshop in Carlisle will close.
Wesley Owen and its predecessor, Scripture Union, have been on the same site in Fisher Street for 35 years.
Only a few years ago Carlisle had another Christian bookshop, SPCK, near the cathedral.
Now we’re told that no such shop can be viable with fewer than a million people in the catchment area…
